Time flies so fast, it’s already the end of high school. The season of training and examination is forever something I couldn’t forget…
This year was another year full of expectations and pressures ahead. And I won the second prize, but is it possible that all my efforts are only focused on those two words “second prize”?
🌟 Exam preparation is an unforgettable memory that Nhi has
We sat together, although each person focused on each laptop, each job separately, but we shared the same determination and goals. We looked up to and leaned on each other to remind ourselves of our motivation to learn and try hard. Whenever there was a difficult assignment, a question that was not understood, the whole group would ask each other first and then sit down to talk about what we knew, eagerly looking for answers and laughing at the unexpected discoveries.
Yet, just hearing someone say “Rest, take a break”, everyone would let go of everything to chit chat with each other. I always bear in mind the way the members phoned each other when we thought our friends were oversleeping and didn’t go to school, the time when we gave each other good advice because the exam was about to take place… Not to mention, sometimes we were kind of weird when refusing to go home and staying in the classroom just to turn on the music and dance random kpop together although it was almost 12 pm. Perhaps, it’s because we are genz!
Moreover, if there were a stressed child in the group, the rest of us would start their career as therapists, even though we were also actually stressed out! We always wanted our team to work together and spread the positive energy, suppress the negative behind.
Team English is the best!
🌟 My funny “neighbors”
While studying, I was also able to fraternize with other teams. Everyone greeted each other with enthusiasm, making me feel like a true family. We sat down to share about the training, exams and difficulties encountered when we were about to re-learn knowledge . Student life is also tiring…
Not only that, all were encouraging each other. Sometimes just waving hello to each other, calling each other’s name through the window frame was enough energy to continue studying. I also remember us studying at school until late at night, eating together and scaring each other with ghost games.
It was all so tiring but so much fun!
🌟 Nhi has learned how to motivate herself and strive towards the future
With last year’s first prize, I had to carry a lot of expectations from both my teachers and even myself. When I heard the results of the second prize… I cried. Perhaps because of the great responsibility, in a moment I felt that I had not reached the milestone I set. But now that I think about it, there’s nothing to cry over my own efforts! I have studied and tried hard. The little star inside me would be very sad to know that what I have done would have been ignored if I had only looked at the temporary “second prize”. Is it the whole journey something that we should look back at next to the final result?
The current me will not stop there. Each of us is on the path of self-development and towards greater long-term values. One experience, one more accumulation.
One of my physics teachers once said in front of the class: “Learning to accept is actually very important. We accept what happens and from there, we try and strive.” And now that I learned from that saying a lot…
Be the twinkling stars,
Nhi Bui
